Genesis’88 & Wayne Anthony Named in Dozens of Published Books

Wayne’s mission to write a book on his personal Acid House experiences were driven by varying factors. Genesis’88 and the chaps behind the large scale warehouse parties were being ignored by most dance music publications documenting the history of Acid House in dedicated editions. Promoters that came after Genesis’88 were afforded the titles of co-pioneers, when the ground-breaking efforts of Team Genesis’88 didn’t get a passing comment. If you’ve read Class of 88 or attended Genesis’88 events, you’d known such extraordinary efforts cannot be simply written off by young music journalists.

The seed was finally sown in the mid-nineties while living in Australia, following a chaotic season in Ibiza organising Love It at Pasha. On a plane returning to the UK Wayne decided he would pen his Acid House story and within two years Virgin Books published Class of 88 in paperback format March 1998. It was from this moment onwards Genesis’88 was recognised for their outstanding contribution to the growth of Acid House and large scale dance parties. Wayne Anthony & Genesis’88 are mentioned in dozens of books on the subject. Today Wayne gets  mentioned in street art graffiti books and even a Wu Tang Clan book.

Here is a small selection of the titles mentioning Wayne or Genesis’88…
